Jorge Suarez Villamarin's Obituary
Jorge (“Ojet”) was born on April 23, 1931, to Simplicio Villamarin and Regina Suarez, in Angono,
Rizal, Philippines.
In 1942, at the young age of 11, he joined the Hunters ROTC Guerillas Unit of the Philippine
Army. Along with his father, siblings Teofilo, Felix and Salome, he helped provide intelligence
information to the army during the second World War.
After attending college for 2 years, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1955. As with many members
of the armed forces, he was deployed at various military locations throughout his career:
California, Washington, Michigan and Spain.
While enlisted, he married Nenita Bautista (“Titam”) of Angono on September 19, 1959. They
raised two children, Marjorie and Dean.
He retired from active military service in June of 1974 and moved the family to the Philippines.
It was a reunion for Ojet, to be amongst relatives and friends he had not seen in almost 20
years.
He and the family returned to the U.S. in 1984 and eventually settled in Hayward, CA. He
worked for the federal government before retiring in 1993.
In 2002, he started a program called CyberBarangayan in his hometown. This program provided
free computer learning instruction to young residents.
Ojet joins his wife and daughter. He leaves behind his son Dean and wife Marissa, son-in-law
Joseph, grandchildren Jacqueline and Matthew, and many nieces and nephews.
