John Velles' Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Velles Jr, who passed away at the age of 91 in his sleep on March 28,2019. John was born on June 19,1927 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He, then, moved his family to California in 1957. John worked for a cannery for years which brought him to the Bay Area. After, he found work as a Mason Marble setter until his early retirement in 1988. He enjoyed going to the casino, home projects, spending time with family and playing his Ukulele. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Velles, son Clement Velles, grandson Clement S. Velles, and his late brothers Phillip, Peter, Bobby and Richard. He is survived by his sisters Tillie, Nellie, Carmelita; and brother Clarence. He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Charleen Nixon; and son, Richard Velles; grandchildren: Mike Velles, Geeia Pacheco, Richard Velles and Matthew Velles; and great-grandchildren: Anthony Velles, Jovanna Brinck, Vanessa Velles and Jrey Brinck. He will be missed by many. His friendly personality made him friends wherever he went.
