John Varela's Obituary
John Manuel Varela, 58, of Union City California, entered into eternal life with Jesus Christ peacefully on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at UCSF Medical Center. Born in Monterey Park, California on September 22, 1959 to Frank Varela, Jr. of Beaumont, California and Aurelia Varela of Las Cruces, New Mexico.In addition to his parents, John is survived by his two adult sons, Joshua Diaz-Varela and Joseph Diaz-Varela, of whom he had always been extremely proud. He is also survived by his brother Frank Varela III and sister-in-law Darlene Varela of Rialto California; his sisters, Mary Ann Thompson of Dallas, Texas, and Suzanne Miller and brother-in-law Steve Miller of San Dimas, California. as well as all his nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, many aunts, cousins, his girlfriend Carmelita G. Adolfo and all those he considered friends.John is further survived by his former parents-in-law Roberto and Lucy Diaz of Union City, California; his brother-in-law & sister-in-law Rick and Patty Brandt of Hayward, California, the extended Diaz family of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. He also leaves behind his former wife and the mother of his two sons, Janet Diaz, who has always considered John to be an important member of their family.A memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home in the Mission Chapel, 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, CA 94544 on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests anyone wishing to honor John may make a memorial donation in his name to the charity of your choice.
