John Collins Shannon a San Leandro, California resident entered into rest Saturday, April 19, 2003 in San Leandro. Born in Bayonne, New Jersey on February 2, 1929, he was 74 years of age. John served 21 years in the U.S. Army retired MSG with Good Conduct Medal. He worked for San Leandro Police Dept for 19 years. He was an avid A's fan. He loved to travel the world and loved Hawaii. He enjoyed his kinds, grandkids and their accomplishments. His family and friends will miss him. Loving father of Patricia Albrecht, Nancy Serrato and Michael Shannon of San Leandro. Dear brother of Robert Shannon of Frankfurt, KY. Devoted grandfather of eight grandchildren.Friends are welcome to attend a memorial service Thursday, April 24, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in the Reflection Chapel at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home."Service of Marked Distinction"
