John Allen Kautz's Obituary
John A. Kautz, a resident of Castro Valley for three years and a former resident of Hayward for 35 years, entered into rest at Kaiser-Hayward on Thursday, February 7, 2002. He was born in West Chicago, IL on December 12, 1929. He was 72 years of age. John was a Superintendent with Caterpiller Tractor for 36 years. A four year veteran of the Navy. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge-West Chicago and the Indian Guides. He coached Little League. John was also a member of the Jaycees in Batavia, IL and in Jr. Achievement in San Landro. John volunteered for over 10 years at Kaiser Hospital. A member of Eden Church for two years prior to that he was a member of the United Church of Christ in So. Hayward.. He graduated from High School in West Chicago, IL and atteneded five years of training with Caterpillar, plus took many management courses. He also atteneded Chabot College in Hayward. He enjoyed woodworking and was a 'Mr. Fix-it.' He enjoyed playing Tennis and golf. He has traveled wold-wide. A beloved husband, father and grandfather, a true friend and caring neighbor. John is forever in our hearts. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Marlyn Kautz of Castro Valley.Beloved father of Kim Madden and her husband, Tom of Vacaville, Tina Salaiz and her husband, Donald of San Lorenzo and Greg Kautz and his wife Jill of Fremont. Dear brother of Janet Player of Oswego, IL and his twin brother, Robert Kautz of Decatur, IL Caring grandfather of Greg Everitt, Justin Everitt and Thomas Everitt all of Hayward, Heidi Kautz and Liesl Kautz both of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Craig; his parents, Wallace Kautz and Lillian Kautz-Burns.A memorial service will be held at 1:30PM, Saturday, February 16, 2002 at Eden United Church of Christ, 21455 Birch St, Hayward, CA 94541. In-Urnment will be private in Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, Hayward.
