Oops I meant meet
I remember Uncle Johnny always with a smile on his face and that warmth in his eyes, I can remember him lifting me up above his head with one hand and spinning me around, I was about 5 I think, I should have been terrified but just looking into his eyes and seeing that smile I knew that I was safe, we would laugh and I would ask him to do it again and he always would. I love and miss you Uncle Johnny.Aloha, till we meat again
Uncle Johnny had a special kind of swagger about him,he always made us smile with his jokes and stories when he would come to mom and dads house for a cup of coffee. His steel guitar was among the best if not the best. Awhile back i had started a new truck driving job and the owner of the company ,Joe Cava ,drove me to Fresno to pick up a new truck. He talked the whole way there but his story he told was so captivating ,it was about uncle Johnny. Joe started out telling me how he played keyboard in various bands,he said there was a kid about 18 years old that would come in to the bar and play steel guitar he came through the back door because he was underage.Joe insisted that Johnny Cambra was the best darn steel guitar player that he has ever herd and that he could play anything anyone asked him to. my boss told me that without knowing that Johnny Cambra was my uncle, that tells me that Uncle Johnny was in fact the best. I will miss you Uncle ,we love you You have left an ever lasting memory in each and every person that has known you
Grandpa I remember chiming to your house for easter and was so excited because your backyard was full of easter eggs and lots of fun. Coming to your house for thanksgiving and eating turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy and pickles. Then passing out on your floor because we ate so much. I also remember asking all the time to play on your steel guitar. Christmas time was the best. I will miss you so much grandpa but you are not in pain or suffering anymore. I love you grandpa! I will always and forever be your Portuguese grand baby!
