Joeminet Catcalin Sismaet's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joeminet Catcalin Sismaet, who departed from us in the morning of August 22nd, 2024 at the age of 49. Born to Juanito and Virginia in the Philippines on June 21st, 1975, Joeminet (lovingly called “Joemi”) was the youngest of 5 siblings, Annalyn, Elmina, Adonis, and Jonalyn. Joeminet grew up with a passion for basketball, creative crafting, and traveling, which he all maintained when he came to America in 1992.
Joemi was easily known for his unconditional kindness, selfless compassion, witty humor, and positive resilience. Regardless of his circumstances, he continually displayed immense strength and perseverance to help, support, and show up for others. Joeminet is survived by his wife and love of his life Jerrylyn, his only son Kyrie, and his siblings Annalyn, Elmina, Adonis, and Jonalyn.
As a devoted husband to Jerrylyn, he always provided her with trust, patience, and an endless drive to collect memorable experiences together. Joemi constantly ensured his true love felt safe, appreciated, and enriched with laughter. Kyrie is forever grateful for his father's active commitment to instill fearless encouragement, moral guidance, and joyful playfulness in raising him. His siblings, close relatives, and best friends fondly uphold the same loving generosity he showed them.
Joeminet's legacy as a pillar of optimistic bravery and a beacon of persistent hope will radiate on through those who knew him. Any and all memories, thoughts, and prayers to his family are welcomed and appreciated.
