JoAnn Weir's Obituary
JoAnn Weir, a resident of Castro Valley since 1963, passed away while surrounded by her family on December 1, 2019.She was born at home on August 22, 1924 in Deaverton, Ohio.She married William “Bill” Weir with whom she had a wonderful marriage for over 50 years. JoAnn was a long-time employee of the Castro Valley Unified August 22, 1924 – December 1, 2019 School District where she was an aid in the office at Marshall Elementary School, an administrative assistant at the District office and an assistant at the District’s transportation office.She loved visits with her grandchildren and spent many hours cultivating a beautiful garden.She is missed and loved by her daughter, Helen Bonds; sister, Joy McGrath; son-in-law, Jay Bonds; and grandsons Jared Bonds, Travis Bonds and Braden Bonds, all of Castro Valley.A celebration of life will be held in her honor at CV First Church of Castro Valley on December 14 at 2 p.m.
