Joan Velee Brown, 72, of San Leandro, California, passed away May 2, 2019.She was born in Richmond, California on December 3, 1946. Joan graduated from Pacific High and received her Beautician’s License from Famous Beauty College. She never married but spent her time focusing on her career and her family.Joan had a career in hair dressing (10 years), cooking “soul food” at a small restaurant in Oakland (2 years), and a Pre-school teacher at St. Vincent Day Home (2 years). She was a homemaker to her children and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly.Joan loved reading, cooking, crossword puzzles and music to pass her time.She is survived by her three children, Bruce Plunkett, Tina Brown, and Jordan Quinn. By her grandchildren; Roberto (Kiana) Resendez, Andrea (Miguel) Zamora, Tinamarie Resendez, Noah Lipscomb, Charlee Lipscomb, Moses Lipscomb, Kealani Brown and Evan Ignacio Brown. By her siblings; Carol Peterson, Evelyn (John) Stapleton and Laverne Brown Quinn. By her great-grandchildren; Jeremiah Zamora and Elliana Zamora.Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA.
