Jimmy Enoch Bing's Obituary
Jimmy Enoch Bing was born on July 20, 1936 to Ernestine Jefferson Bing and James Enoch Bing in Winter Garden, FL. where he resided during his youth with his 12 siblings. He confessed Christ at an early age as a Methodist. Jimmy married Barbara Jean Lewis and was blessed with a son, Darryl D. Bing. He enlisted in the US Navy serving as an Aviation Mechanic and River Patrol Special Forces Captain. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal in 1970, and retired after 30 years in 1985. Jimmy obtained an AA degree in Horticulture from Chabot College in Hayward CA. He was a dedicated Cacti and Succulent enthusiast maintaining a nursery. He also retired from the US Postal Service serving as a mail carrier and clerk. He was an avid handyman and produced custom awards/plaques. Bro. Jimmy E. Bing, 33o was a chartered member of San Andreas Lodge No. 70 of San Jose, CA, later becoming Most Worshipful Master of his Lodge, working under Most Worshipful Hiram of Tyre Grand Lodge AF&AM. He was a chartered member of Stars of Hope Chapter No. 74, O.E.S. and served as Worthy Patron, later serving as Grand Worthy Patron of his beloved Golden Poppy Grand Chapter, OES, State of CA. He served in many offices and capacities in both the Grand Lodge and Grand Chapter. He loved working with the Golden State Youth Fraternity where he was an Overseer for many years. He was an active and hard working member of: The Affiliated Supreme Grand Chapter O.E.S., The Supreme Heroines of Jericho, The Lady Knights of Templar, The Ancient Arabic Order of Daughters of Sphinx and The Royal House of Companions all working under The United Supreme Council, AF&AM of the Southern and Western Jurisdictions and its Dependence’s. He passed quietly from this life on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 9:30pm in Newark, CA. Preceding him in death: His wife Barbara (Lewis) Bing of Union City CA, Mother, Father, sisters – Lillian, Betty, and Arementha Bing and Mary Copeland; brothers – Robert, Harold, Ernest, Burnice, Willie, and Curtis (Janice). Loving memories will be cherished by those he dearly loved: son Darryl D. Bing and daughter-in-law Darlene Coley-Bing of Gilbert AZ; grandsons Avery J. Bing and Isaiah D.M. Bing, daughter Cassandra Hubbard (Saraya) of San Diego CA, sister Barbara Bing of Jamaica NY, brother John Henry Bing of Orlando, FL and beloved nieces/nephews/cousins, and a large community of neighbors, friends, and masonic brothers/sisters.
