Jieren Wang's Obituary
Mr. Jieren Wang, 85, of Oakland, passed away on December 29th, 2022, in Oakland.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30am on January 9th, 2023, at the Chapel of the Chimes Hayward with the Minister Kevin Kuan of Home of Christ Church Menlo Park, officiating. Cremation Witness Service will follow at the Chapel of the Chimes Hayward. Arrangements are by the Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward.
Jieren was born at Kaifeng, Henan Province in China to the late Buzhou and Qizhen Wang, both educators, on 3/23/1937. He graduated from Jilin Industrial University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked as a professor for Changchu Optics and Fine Mechanics University for 45 years.
Jieren married Xiuzhen Bai in 1963 in Changchun, China. He helped raise his two children with patience, discipline, and humanity. He taught them to read, write and often sing together.
Jieren was an educator at heart. He was kind and softly spoken, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones.
Jieren is survived by his wife Xiuzhen Bai; his daughter Shuwen; his son, Yuwen; his grandsons, Maurice, Matthew, and Andrew.
