Jesus Albayalde ChanApril 15, 1938 – February 2, 2017 A loving husband, father, & brotherA wonderful soul full of pure goodness and love went ahead of us.Jesus Albayalde Chan was born in San Fernando, La Union, Philippines on April 15, 1938 and passed away peacefully on February 2, 2017 in Fremont, California.He will be remembered as a loyal friend to many, a loving and faithful husband, a caring father, a fun grandpa, a helpful and thoughtful brother, a special uncle, and a generous supporter of various non-profit organizations. He was a great chess player, an avid cyclist, a great swimmer and a voracious reader. He loves music but above all, his greatest delight was reading and reflecting on God’s Word day and night. He lived a simple and content life and focused more on his spiritual well-being. He put his family’s needs first ahead of his own. He seldom talked about himself and yet our “Papa” lived an eloquent life.He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elsa; his daughter Arlene Chan and son-in-law Jaime Galvez; his son Darwin Chan and daughter-in-law, Manet Ubungen-Chan; his grandchildren Jamison Clyde Galvez, Athenie Jill Galvez, and Mark Daniel Chan; his sisters Maria Chan, Teresita Rojo-Lopez, Susan Chan-Domingo and brother-in-law Conrado Domingo, Lolita (Mely) Rojo-Chan, Teresita Livara and brother-in-law Santiago Livara Jr. and his brother Ruben Rojo-Chan and sister-in-law Estrella Rojo.
