Jesus Marana Bascos' Obituary
Jesus Marana Bascos, 77, of Newark, CA passed away on January 23rd, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Dementia.
Jesus was born on Christmas Day 1946 to Hilario Directo Bascos and Luz Salvador Marana in San Blas, Pangasinan, Philippines. After Jesus graduated from high school in 1963, he went on to study business accounting at Far Eastern University.
After graduating with a degree in accounting in 1967, he started his first job at Clark Air Force base, kickstarting a 44 year career in accounting. He went on to be become an auditor for the Department of Defense at the time of his retirement.
In 1970, Jesus met Erlinda Lacandazo while working at Clark Air Force Base in Angeles City, Philippines. Jesus and Erlinda got married in 1973 went on to have 4 children, Christopher, Maria Luz, Maria Elisa, and Maria Cecilia.
In 2012, Jesus retired and spent his time traveling all over the world with his lovely wife, gardening in their home in Newark, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Jesus was predeceased by his father and mother, Hilario and Luz. He is survived by his brother, Raymundo, sister, Filipina, wife, Erlinda, children: Chris, Luz, Lisa, and Cecilia, and grandchildren: Caiden, Maya, Melea, Aria, and Nathan.
Viewing will be held at Chapel of the Chimes on Feb 5, 2024 at 9AM. Mass will be at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 12PM with reception following Jesus interment. If you will joining us for the reception, please RSVP at tinyurl.com/JesusBascos
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association to help other families with loved ones also battling Alzheimer’s. We pray for a cure from this devastating disease.
