JESSIE L. MILTON entered into rest in Emeryville, California, on September 19, 2004, age 79. Loving mother of Judy L. Stanley (Harold) of Gretna, Louisiana; Milton Garland of Emeryville; James L. Davis (Linda) of Chevy Chase, Maryland; and Richard Davis of Tracy, California. Dear aunt of Carolyn Thomas (James) of Newark, California. Dear grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of 16. A great-niece and a great-nephew and a host of cousins and friends also survive her.Jessie was a native of North Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. Jessie was a graduate of Philander Smith College, Little Rock, Arkansas, and received her Master’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She was an elementary school teacher in the Berkeley Unified School District. She retired from the district in 1983.Friends are invited to call at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, California, on Thursday, September 23, 2004, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Quiet hour will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2004. Interment at Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward, California.
