Jeffrey Robert Gonzalves' Obituary
Jeffrey “Jeff” Robert Gonzalves, 69, longtime resident of Hayward, passed away at his home on Dec.25, 2023.
Jeff was born in Oakland, CA, to parents Johnny and Marilyn (Gutke) Gonzalves. Jeff worked all levels of construction, working his way through the trades becoming a journeyman carpenter. He had a lively sense of humor, loved making people laugh (often uncomfortably), and was known for pulling pranks. An avid sports fan, Jeff spent countless afternoons at the Oakland Coliseum, with Portuguese Night being a family tradition, and could always be counted on for a game of pool. He enjoyed blues music, collecting knives, and watching old westerns with his beloved dog, Chica.
Preceded in death, by his father Johnny, Jeff is survived by his mother, Marilyn, his sister Cheryl, and his brother John Jr (Cari). He leaves behind his daughter Lynette (Luis), grandchildren Anthony, Cristopher, and Anahliya; Nephew Mark, and Niece Lisa (Josh), as well as great nephews and many cousins.
He loved, and was loved, by many. Jeff was a great friend and protector.
To honor Jeff's memory, we are holding a celebration of life from 12:00pm -1:30pm, on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Chapel of the Chimes Hayward.
We invite you to join us for a reception afterwards at the Gonsalves Residence, in Mountain House, CA.
