Janet Denise Gilbert's Obituary
Janet Denise Gilbert Resident of Fremont Aug. 4, 1950 – Nov. 7, 2011 Janet Denise Gilbert, entered into rest on Monday, November 7. Janet touched many lives with her faithful spirit and love for her family and friends. Janet was born in Hayward, California and graduated from Canyon High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Gene Gilbert Jr., on May 24, 1969. She resided in Fremont and raised her four children. She is survived by her father, Robert Bowen, her sister Nancy Morris and her husband Larry, her children Devin Chartier and her husband Dan, Christine Gilbert, Amanda Husby and her husband Tony, and Matthew Gilbert and his wife Tarah. With as much love as she had for her children, she had even more love for her 5 grandchildren Chelsey, Emily, Daniel, and Jacob Chartier and Hadley Gilbert. Janet was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends and welcomed anyone with open arms. Her hobbies were reading, antiques, shopping with her sister, and her claim to fame was her holiday baked goods. Public viewing will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011 at Chapel of the Chimes 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA from 9:30 – 10:00 am. The service will immediately follow the viewing. Funeral Service will be in the Reflection Chapel.
