James Lee Walker's Obituary
James L. Walker, 90, of Newark CA, passed away on July 22, 2022.
James was born on May 23, 1932 to Simon Peter Walker and Minnie Kennedy Walker in Oakdale, LA. James was the oldest of 10 siblings, survived by Vera Robinson, Harold Walker, and Wayne Walker; children, Harald Walker and Edwin Walker; and grandchildren, Dominic Walker, Brittany Walker, Tanya Walker, and Chelsea Walker; and great grandchildren; John Clark, Jade Clark, Anyah Sapp, Liberty Walker, Dominique Walker, Chris Walker, and Aries Sapp.
In 1950, James joined the army and went to the Korean War. He fought bravely beside his countrymen for over two decades. During his time in the service, James got married to Ingebörg M. Walker. They were married for 57 years. In his spare time, James enjoyed fishing, gardening, dancing to zydeco, traveling/cruises, and having a good time with family and friends. His hobbies included working on cars, his boat, and his house.
Services will held on August 10th at the Chapel of the Chimes from 4pm-7pm, and the burial will be held on August 11th at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at 1:30pm.
