James Pendleton Southard's Obituary
James P. Southard, 79 passed away on Monday, July 22, 2002 at Kaiser Hospital in Hayward, California. James was born to James Russell and to Ann Burnett Southard on March 5, 1923 in Pendleton, Indiana. James retired from the U.S. Department of Labor after 30 years as a GSA19 in 1983. James retired from the U.S. Army in 1968. James was a Past President of the East Bay Chapter of the Reserve Officers Association. He was a member of Acacia Lodge#243, Free and Accepted Masons. He was a member of the Oakland Scottish Rite Center. He was a member of the National Sojourners Chapter #108. He was a member of the Aahmes Shrine and Past Commander Aahmes Legion of Honor.His parents, James Russell & Ann Burnett Southard, preceded James in death. A dear sister, Mildred Mills, also preceded James. James is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years. James leaves behind two loving sons, James J. Southard of San Francisco, California and William R. & Susan Southard of El Dorado Hills, California. He is also survived by a stepdaughter and a stepson, Karen & Steve Huerta of Newark, California and Kregg & Sandra Cammack of Hayward, California. James was a proud grandfather of his precious grandchild, Andrew Southard of El Dorado Hills, California. He also leaves behind six step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.Family and Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, July 28, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home ' Reflection Chapel; 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, CA 94544.
