James Hunter's Obituary
James V. Hunter—“Jim” to his family and friends—was born
in Rexburg, Idaho, on September 23rd. 1957, and passed
away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on Sunday,
March 29th, 2020, in California.
Jim will always be remembered for the kindness and
compassion he so willingly extended to others.
Jim’s father was killed when he was young, leaving he and
his family to struggle emotionally and financially.
Jim and his brothers went to work at young ages to help
support the family.
He rose above his challenges through sheer hard work and
determination. As a young man in high school, there was no
one more respected and admired as Jim in his little
community.
Jim married Sukuei Cheng on March. 6th.2003
He has been a great life tutor and partner to her.
Jim had a passionate love for computer science and
engineering—a passion which led him into very successful
career in the field of high-tech cyber-security. Well beyond
the many awards and recognitions he received in this field,
Jim valued most of all his friends—both old and new—who
invited him over, yes, to help them with their computers,
but even more because of the warmth of his heart
Jim enjoyed dance music, squash, dinosaur’s history and he
was a fan of Sharks Hockey team.
He was not only the best uncle to the kids but the fun
person to play with. Jim will always be remembered for the
way he touched and treated everyone with his gentle
kindness, and his generous, warm heart. Within Jim’s reach
no one would cry alone—not even the stranger on the street.
It has been said that the only way to take the sorrow out of
the death of a loved one would be to take the love out of
life. Our tears for Jim today stand as a testimony of the love
we shared with him—and how much he will be missed—
missed especially by his sweet wife, SuKuei, by his family,
and by nieces and nephews whose lives Jim enriched with his
love
Jim will find rest and peace in a land that he loved—Taiwan
