James "Sundance" Herring's Obituary
James "Sundance" Herring a Hayward resident entered into rest Monday, October 22, 2001 in Hayward. Born in Inglewood, Colorado on December, 27, 1927, he was 73 years of age. James served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was a salesman for Montgomery Wards and Prudential Life Insurance Company for 40 years. He was a member of the San Leandro Golf Men's Club. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, hunter, outdoorsman and gardener.Dearly beloved husband of Virginia M. Herring. Loving father of Kimberly Peppard of Reno, Nevada, Karen Herring-Fimby of Sparks, Nevada and Kenneth Herring of San Lorenzo. Dear brother of Marilyn Hyten of Aurora, Colorado, Gwendolyn Short of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Babe Snow of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Bob Herring of Hayward. Devoted grandfather of one grandchild. He was preceded in death by one sister Lilian Cook and one brother Kenneth Herring. Friends are welcome to attend a Memorial service Friday, October 26, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church: 3433 Somerset Avenue, Castro Valley, CA 94546.
