Jacqueline Esther Lardizabal's Obituary
In Loving Memory
Jacqueline Esther Lardizabal, age 86, passed away peacefully March 23, 2023, in San Ramon, California, with her family by her side. She was born in Oakland, California, to Peter and Gladys E. Pina. Growing up in Oakland, she worked for a local Optometrist, delivering eyeglasses and contact lenses door-to-door. There is where she would marry at a young age and give birth to two daughters, and through a mutual friend, she would later meet and marry the love of her life, Tito Lardizabal Jr., whom she has been married to for 62 years. Together with their blended family of three, she gave birth to four additional children, three daughters, and a son. They would later end up residing in Hayward - Fremont, California, raising their family.
Jackie, as she preferred to be called, was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She was the caregiver and financial planner of her family. She treasured her children, loved them unconditionally and embraced every moment with them. She later would praise herself on her role of Grandma and would enjoy telling people how many grandchildren and great-grandchildren she had in her ever-growing family tree. She lived a very humbled lifestyle, never putting her needs before others. The most selfless person in the world. Her hands were rarely still as she prized herself on her home and family.
Jackie was never the first to conversate in a room, but rather the person to listen and advise as needed. She was a very beautiful woman inside and out, with the most captivating "smile" that would light-up a room. She had a strong soul, displaying strength, courage, and the ability to be stern when needed. In her leisure, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, comedy television and had a love for action movies.
Jackie later resided in San Ramon, California and upon her passing in Livermore, California, where she enjoyed family occasions and listening to country music. Sweet "Mama-Jackie" as she was most often called. Loved to love on people, who most often felt like she had to comfort them before allowing to be comforted herself.
Jackie is survived by her husband Tito "Tino" Lardizabal, her sisters Dorothy and Karen, her children, daughters Deborah, Charlene, Elizabeth "Liz", Jamie, her son Tino and stepdaughter Elizabeth "Lisa". Preceded in death by daughter Tammy, sister Sandra, brothers Peter and Theodore. Her family legacy includes twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
Her role here has come to an end and her tasks completed, but her loving memory will live on. She will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
Services will be held in the Reflection Chapel located at Chapel of the Chimes Hayward on April 8, 2023 from 12:00pm-1:30pm. Friends and family wishing to honor Jackie are invited to make donations in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
