It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jackie Ray Williams. On Thursday, the twenty-first of April, 2022, Mr. Williams quietly slipped away from his earthly bonds and gently entered into eternal rest. He will be forever loved and missed by his devoted family and friends.
Jackie Ray Williams made a peaceful transition to heaven on April 21, 2022, surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 16, 1963 to Raymond & Doris Williams in Toledo, Ohio. When Jackie was 2, Raymond was stationed aboard the USS Enterprise that was stationed at the Naval Base in Alameda, CA. The family relocated to Hayward, CA where he would grow up with his siblings Anthony, Kenneth, Michael and Yvette. They were raised in Palma Ceia Baptist Church as their mother Doris was a charter member.
He went to La Vista Jr. High school where he met his future wife, Melinda. They also went to Tennyson High School, where he exceled at being the star football player.
Jackie and Melinda were married in October 1985. They had two children, Marcus & Dimetrius. They followed in their parents’ footsteps by going to the same elementary, junior high and high schools.
He was known for his bigger than life personality, being a people person, his huge smile, his acts of kindness and his ability to talk sports all day. He enjoyed talking with the kids at the elementary school he worked at or the truck drivers that came to unload at his job.
He was organ donor and touched two lives that same evening. He has the opportunity to touch more lives in the future. Even in his death, he lives on through these donor recipients. As a family we are all proud of his last good deed on earth.
His interests were watching and playing sports, Sci-Fi movies and shows, being out in nature, and going fishing, among other things. From a child his greatest obsession was being the biggest Pittsburg Steelers fan there is in California. He sported his Steelers gear with great pride!
Jackie was proceeded in death by His mother Doris Williams, His brothers Anthony Russell & Michael Williams . He is survived by his Wife Melinda Buss Williams, his two sons, Marcus and Dimetrius Williams, Father Raymond Williams, brother Kenneth Williams (Cindy), sister Yvette Williams, cousin Paulette Samuels (David), Nephews, Gerald Williams (Marie), Isaac Williams & Gerald Williams Jr. He leaves a large, loving family, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews and Nieces that will cherish his memory.
