JACK L. SHEPPARD JACK L. SHEPPARD Passed away on January 7, 2007, on Sunday at 8:55 p.m. at St. Francis Medical Center, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. At the age of 87 years. Born on April 19, 1919 in Concord, Oregon and lived for many years at Bessaro Mobile Home Park in Fremont and last 6 years in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the Mission Veteran’s Home. He was the son of the late William T. Sheppard and Cloe Dilley and was one of 5 children in the family. Mr. Sheppard was a WWII veteran, served in U.S. Navy 1942 – 1945 in the 40th Battalion and trained in military for Seabee training. He worked for many years as a land surveyor on the Panama Canal and landing strips at the airports in Vietnam and enjoyed working for operating engineers Local Union #3. He loved fishing and bowling at Clover Leaf Bowl in Fremont for many years. Proud life member of the V.F.W. Post #3838 of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and a member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite Temple. Preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Jewel (Judy) Sheppard in 1998. Survived by his cherished sons, Larry (Jannette) Sheppard of West Sacramento and Michael (Martha) Sheppard of Scott City, Missouri. Loving grandchildren, Derek Sheppard, Crystal Munson, Jennifer Sheppard, Danielle Wills, Katie Poynter, Samantha Sheppard. Loving great-grandchildren, Olivia, Zachary, Elizabeth, Corinne, Landon, Sydney, Mariah and Zackary. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in reflection chapel at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA.
