Irma Emily Harbert's Obituary
Irma Emily Harbert, 93, wife of Eldred L. Harbert, died on Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Eden Villa Convalescent Hospital in Castro Valley, California. She was born in Ord, Nebraska, daughter of pioneer parents, Matthew and Anna R. Parkos, on October 30, 1909. She received her education there and at the University of Nebraska. She devoted many years to teaching and taught in numerous cities in the state. She continued to teach until her husband returned from the military service during World War II. They then came to California in 1946 and settled in Hayward, California where they spent their life working together in their place of business.Irma enjoyed participating in her church activities as well as other social clubs and organizations. She had a host of friends and will be missed by many. Private services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park and Funeral Home; 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, CA 94544. She leaves to mourn her loving husband, Eldred L. Harbert, one sister, a niece, grandniece and a great-grandniece.
