Ratti, Irene Evelyn's Obituary
Dec. 17, 1926 – April 4, 2025; Resident of Oakland; Beloved wife of the late Ulysses P. Ratti, caring sister-in-law of Robert and Nancy. Predeceased by sons, James & Jeffrey and grandsons, Chris, Stephen, and James. Devoted mother of Julios and Jerry, and cherished grandmother of Nick, John, Melissa, Josh, and Angela and 14 great grandchildren. Irene was born on a farm in North Dakota and is predeceased by her eight brothers and sisters. She met Ulysses in Astoria, OR in 1945 while working on the war effort and married him six months later. She lived in Nevada and California while Ulysses was working on the railroad and then served as a Navy wife for twenty years living in Nevada, Florida, California, and Saipan. They settled down in Oakland where she worked in the cafeteria at her children’s school. She enjoyed traveling, merlot, coconut shrimp, and her passion was her family and gardening. She will be greatly missed by all who know and love her. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Friday May 2nd at 12:30pm at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, followed by a celebration of life at 2811 Durant Ave., Oakland. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room would be greatly appreciated
