Iona Moon's Obituary
Iona S. Moon, 83, a resident of Fremont, entered into rest in Santa Clara on Saturday, March 9, 2002. She was born on a small farm near Alcestor, SD on January 3, 1919, to Richard S. and Esther M. Sanford. She attended school at Glenwood Grade School and Beresford High School and the University of South Dakota. She married William J. Stroh who preceded her in death, and then married Kenneth Moon on Nov. 3, 1962 who also preceded her in death. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and bowling and was a role model to many children and friends who were drawn to her love and warmth, her home was always full of people.She is survived by her daughter Gayle Marie Woltner of Fremont, Bill Stroh of Stockton and Norma Stroh of Fremont. Sister of Leona (Bunny) Brown of Oregon and Sonny Sanford of South Dakota. Caring grandmother to Joesph Wayne Woltner and Ron Stroh, great grand daughter Nichole Riter. She is also survived by 13 other grand children.A memorial service will be held at 7:00PM, Thursday, March 14, 2002 at the First Assembly of God, 4760 Thornton, Fremont, CA 94536.
