Inocencio Y. Acevedo's Obituary
Inocencio Y. Acevedo became a mechanical engineer after graduating from Cebu Institute of Technology in 1957. A decade later he joined a wave of Filipino engineers recruited by Boeing Company to design a new jumbo jet, the 747.Inocencio (born July 28, 1933) left Manila with his wife and baby son on April 4, 1968. He designed the 747’s wing skin, the thin metal that covers the latticework of metal ribs and the fuel tanks inside each wing. His legacy, however, is his family. He was a devoted husband to Rosalia Llave Acevedo; loving father to Salving, Edwin, Victor, Charles and Ian; and adoring grandfather to Matthew, Gabriel, Lily and Eli.Inocencio moved to California and worked as an engineer for several companies. He died Jan. 22, 2017 after suffering injuries from a fall. He is beloved and will be missed by family and friends.
