Hospicia Partido's Obituary
Hospicia Bautista Partido 1939 – 2020, after a sudden but brief illness passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on March 19, 2020. She was loved for countless reasons, including her gentle spirit, generous heart, and awesome cooking. Everyone who met her loved and respected her for her selflessness.
When Hospicia was 13 years old, her mother, Fortunata, passed away. This life event forced her to grow up very quickly. Hospicia, or, Ate Pising, as she was called by her brothers and sisters, helped take care of her 7 younger siblings. Her father, Felix, eventually remarried his second wife, Emiliana, and they were blessed with 9 children. Ate Pising was selfless: for example, she sewed clothes for her younger sisters, and she helped fund high school and college education for her siblings.
Hospicia finished her college degree and married Rogelio. Soon after the birth of their first child together, Rousalyn, they moved to the United States. It was a huge leap of faith, but it was a sacrifice and blessing all at once. After a couple of years establishing their lives in the Bay Area, another daughter, Helena, was born. Just as Hospicia helped take care of her younger brothers and sisters growing up, she also made many sacrifices as a wife and mother, to help family life run smoothly. Her beautiful garden of love, faithfulness, humility, and devotion continued to thrive, as she balanced family life along with a career working in Alameda County and the Oakland Coliseum.
Hospicia loved her husband, Rogelio, faithfully for 52 years. She was his partner, best friend, and faith buddy. As our mom, she made sure we pursued our education, and maintained a positive perspective, to always look for the silver lining. She taught us how to be a good sister to each other, and by her example how to be a loving wife and mom. We all can’t thank you enough for being such a blessing in our lives. We love you, Devoted Wife, Mom, Ate (Sister), Grandma, and friend.
Hospicia is survived by her husband, Rogelio, their two daughters: Rousalyn (Roel) and Helena (Steve); grandchildren: Angelena, Joshua, Christopher, Alyssa, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Lisa (James), Jason, and great grandson, Jimmy. She is also survived by her extensive family of 12 surviving siblings, and several generations of family members
