HOLLIS MATHEW NAKEA BAKER HOLLIS MATHEW NAKEA BAKER Born in Honolulu, HI, March 6, 1927, passed away at the age of 79 on January 1, 2007. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carol Baker, 2 sons, Ron and Roger Baker, 3 Grandchildren, Christopher, Patricia & Kyle, Brothers Bruce & Byron Baker and Lillian Macedo along with many cousins, nephews and nieces, and many adoring students and fellow musicians. Hollis was a very devoted member of the Hawaiian community, and a teacher and principal in the Hayward School system for 30 years. He also spent much of his time playing music in senior care facilities. His passion was playing and teaching the Ukulele. He was one of the founders on the annual Ukulele Festival, of which he was very proud. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2006 at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA.
