Hobart Dean Dorsey's Obituary
Hobart Dean Dorsey passed away peacefully on April 9, 2018 at the age of 93 years old. He was born on February 17, 1925 in Greenfield, Iowa. Dean served our country as a medic in World War II. He was awarded the following medals: World War II Victory, Philippines Liberation with bronze star, Good Conduct, and American Defense Service.Dean loved to play golf and was President of the Sunol Dorsey golf group until he was 90 years old. He was an avid poker player and enjoyed betting on the horses.Dean is survived by his brothers Doug Dorsey of Turlock, Jim Dorsey of Lakeworth, Florida, daughters Linda Vernon of Pleasanton, Pam Knotts and son-in-law Don Knotts of Livermore. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chris Vernon and wife, Avelina, great-grandsons, Matthew and Hudson of Manteca, Greg Knotts and fiancé, Chelsea Ashbaker, great-grandson, Kayden of Alameda, Renee Vernon of San Ramon, and Kevin Knotts of Livermore.Dean will be lovingly laid to rest on Saturday, April 21st at the Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward. Services will begin in the Garden of Honor at 11:00 am.
