Hillary Joseph Francois Jr.October 16, 1928 – May 20, 2018San Ramon, CA Hillary J. Francois Jr., 89, was born on October 16, 1928 and passed away on May 20, 2018 surrounded by family. Hillary was a resident of San Ramon, CA. at the time of passing.Hillary was born in Bunkie, Louisiana to Hillary J. Francois Sr. and Lizzie Dupont. He had 8 siblings. On December 20, 1952 he married Beatrice Sylve and together they had 5 children. He moved to California in 1966 to make a better life for his family. Hillary drove by himself in a 1957 Chevy Bel Air with about $200 in his pocket. He had to find work and a home, so he could bring his wife and children to California. He found a home for his family in Hayward, CA. and employment with Sears where he was a warehouseman. He retired from Sears in 1990.Hillary had a big soul that went along with a big smile. He was best known for his Cajun accent, his love for food, wearing suspenders, and spirits. He enjoyed family gatherings, breakfast on Sunday, road trips and the New Orleans Saints.Hillary is preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Sylve, his parents Hillary Sr. and Lizzie Francois; his sisters, Mary Bercie Francois LeJeune, Barbara Francois Dino, and Mercedes Francois Rowell; along with his brothers, John Gerald Francois Sr. and Adrian Francois.Hillary is survived by two of his brothers, Louis Owen Francois and Paul Neal Francois. As well as his beloved children, Hope Collins, Hillary Francois III (Philena), Julie Francois, Anthony Francois (Patti), and Darlene Amaral (Marty). And, his 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.Hillary will be laid to rest with his wife Beatrice on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11am at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward. A private viewing for family will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 4-5pm, and then open to friends from 5-9pm.
