Henry Hak Chan's Obituary
Reverend Henry H. Chan, of Fremont, CA, passed away on January 12, 2024 while vacationing in Lisbon, Portugal at the age of 73. Born on January 31, 1950 in the State of Canton, County of Toy-San, District of Six Valleys, Valley of Sheldon in China, Henry was a resident of the East Bay for over 60 years and was a graduate of Oakland Technical High School and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Henry was an active member of Harbor Light Church and an ordained minister in the Assemblies of God, while he also worked at National Semiconductor and Kodak in Santa Clara for 35+ years. Survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Lewy Chan of Fremont; cherished sons Derek Chan of Hayward and Caleb Chan of Union City; brother Jerry Chan of San Leandro; and preceded in death by his parents, Woo Yin and Wai Ha Chan of Oakland; his first wife, Helen Chan of Hayward; and brother Fred Chan of Union City. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Mission Chapel at Chapel of the Chimes - Hayward. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Harbor Light Church in Fremont. A private burial service for the family will be held after the memorial service.
