Helen Louise Roberts' Obituary
Helen "Louise" Roberts, of Walnut Creek, Passed away peacefully at her residence on May 30, 2002, at the age of 88. She was born in Topeka, Kansas, on May 18, 1914. Before retiring in 1982, Mrs. Roberts worked over 25 years as the head of the sales audit for Mervyn's. She was a kind and loving wife and mother whose family was the center of her life. Knitting was a hobby for many years and she loved her daily crossword puzzles. She was an avid ballroom dancer. She and her husband belonged to three dance clubs in Rossmoor, one of which she was the treasurer for a number of years. Before moving to Walnut Creek seven years ago, she and her husband, of 60 years, Bruce Roberts lived in San Lorenzo for more than 20 years. Along with her husband, Bruce, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Barry and Marcella Roberts, Grandson, Michael and his wife Carrie Roberts, their three children Michael, Lorna, and Daniel Roberts, all of San Lorenzo, Granddaughter Suzanne Roberts, of Pasadena, and her fianc?, Damon Linder, of Los Angeles, her two sisters "Buddy" Oliphant and Erma Lockhart, both of Walnut Creek, and numerous other extended family members. Donations may be sent in her memory to American Heart, Hospice or Breast Cancer.A memorial service will be held at 1:30PM, Sunday, June 9, 2002 in the Mission Chapel of Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA 94544. Inurnment will be private in Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, Hayward, CA.
