HELEN LOUISE OLSON's Obituary
Helen returned to her heavenly home on October 16, 2017. She was a strong and determined 97 year old. Helen was a beautiful Christian lady who knew God would enfold her in His waiting arms.Helen was born on May 14, 1920, in Peking China. She was the daughter of John David Zumbrun and Louise Hoelderlin. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Albert M. Olson and by her son, Albert M. Olson, II.Helen is survived by her daughter, Carol L. Hayter, daughter-in-law, Evelyn Olson, four grandchildren, Angela Amaral, Pamela Dixon, Albert Olson III, and John Hayter. Also by eight great-grandchildren: Kaitlynn Wells, Kevin Amaral, Darrick Dixon, Danielle Dixon, Brandon Hayter, Trevor Hayter, Alyssa Olson and Alyson Olson.Helen and her family moved to Oakland, CA from China when she was 9 years old. She attended Oakland Public Schools where she met and married her high school sweetheart. They later moved to Fremont.Helen was a very active member of her community. She was a long time member and wedding coordinator for Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. A Castlemont High School Block “C” Organization founding member, PTA President and multiple committee chair, as well as, a Welcome Wagon hostess for over 25 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on November 1, 2017, at 12:00 noon at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 38451 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA. During a private ceremony she was interned at Chapel of the Chimes on October 20, 2017, where she joined her husband. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Smiletrain.org.
