Helen F. Navarro's Obituary
Helen Feeney Navarro, age 84, of Union City passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017. She was born to the late U.S. Army Captain Rosendo Navarro Sr. and Cornelia Feeney Navarro on July 22, 1933. She was an active member in the Cenacle of Jesus and Mary, the 2000 Hail Mary & Divine Mercy prayer group, 2000 Hail Mary in Daly City and was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Guadalupe church. Family and friends were Helen’s passion and delight. She grew up in the Philippines during the Japanese war. Helen was never married and had no children. She sacrificed her life to take care of all her siblings during the war and her parents when they needed elderly care. Helen’s hobby was sewing dresses for herself and the ladies of the family. During her working years, she worked for a company in San Francisco at a hat factory, a clerk for Woolworth company along with her late best friend, Ida Numencio, and for Technicolor Inc. processing photos. Helen is survived by her sisters Lourdes Santos, Lucila Obando, Fe Porciuncula, Luisa Navarro, brother Emanuel Navarro, Jim Navarro and Marciano Navarro. She also leaves behind numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. Helen requested a small private funeral with close friends and family. The family wish to thank all of those who cared for her during her last few months. Viewing will be on January 2, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home and Cemetery at 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward CA. 94544. Funeral Service will be held January 3, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church at 34700 Fremont Blvd., Fremont CA. 94555. Following the mass, internment will be at the Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home and Cemetery.
