Helen Eileen Merrin's Obituary
Helen E. Merrin of Hayward, age 79. She was born on February 18, 1922 in Oakland, California and went to be with the Lord on December 17, 2001, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William R. Merrin and a daughter, Jodell L. Thut. She was the loving mother of Laurie A. Cunningham of Hayward, Kathy A. Beach of Saratoga, California and Peter Merrin of Houston, Texas. She was the very dear sister of Melvin Richardson of Mount Shasta, California. She was the beloved grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was a graduate of Castlemont High School in Oakland, California. She was a resident of Hayward for 51 years and prior of Oakland for 28 years. She was very devoted to raising her family and working. She worked at the Duplicating Center, a printing company in San Leandro as an Administrative Assistant for 10 years. She loved playing the piano and singing hymns. She enjoyed traveling and trailer camping with her family and friends. She attended Bible Study Fellowship for 8 years. She also loved to sew, paint, garden, cook, bake and read. Family and Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to celebrate her life on Thursday, December 27, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Chapel Community Church; 19300 Redwood Road, Castro Valley, CA 94546.
