Helen "Linda" Archuleta's Obituary
June 16, 1941 – August 24, 2008 Resident of San Jose Helen “Linda” Archuleta was born at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California on June 16, 1941 to Manuel and Mary Torres. Both her parents migrated from “Old Mexico” in 1929. She was the fourth child born to Manuel and Mary and is survived by her siblings, David Torres, Benito Torres, Joseph Torres, Estella Nunes, including those preceding her – Geraldine Torres and Manuel Torres. She attended Hamilton Junior High School in Oakland, California and later attended Roosevelt High School to which she graduated. She began her career with Safeway’s shortly after and remained with Safeway for 33 years. In addition, she assisted with training employees during the opening of new Safeway stores in the Bay Area. She was blessed with five wonderful children; Arthur Richard Archuleta, John Robert Archuleta, Raymond Donald Archuleta, Raeleene Victoria Archuleta and Antonio “Freddie” Perez. Through her children, she was blessed with thirteen Grandchildren; Vincent, Mitchell, Morgan, Meleah “Chachi”, Anthony, Eric, Victoria, Sophia, Adrianna, Leticia, Daniel, Justin and Destiny. Through their union, she was blessed with thirteen Great-grandchildren. Helen “Linda” was a devoted mother and who worked very hard to ensure that she provided for each of her children. She instilled the values of hard work and determination. She was a shining example of what hard work could accomplish. She never gave in to the challenges which life brought her and was determined to instill this in each and every family member and friend who was fortunate enough to have known her.
