Heldo Borromeo Advincula was born on November 20, 1920 in Albay, Philippines. He was married to Trinidad Sevilla Advincula (deceased) from San Miguel, Bulacan. They had 4 children together, Celia married to Domingo, Renato (deceased) married to Zenaida , Nestor married to Ira and Jaime married to Maria. He left behind 9 grandchildren, James, Chris, Geoffrey, Alan, Luzelle, Ian, Andrew, Gino and Cristina. He also has 6 great-grandchildren, Althea, Taytum, Leila, Landon, Alize, and Jalen. Heldo was a retired government hospital employee in the Philippines. He also enjoyed TV/radio repair on the side during his younger years. He immigrated to the United States in 1980. First, spending some time in Indiana with his daughter, Celia, then moving to California, where he spent the rest of his life. Heldo was a quiet but social individual who loved to drive and venture. He loved his independence, whether through his car or with his electric scooter. He loved living his life in the city of San Francisco. He liked to keep himself busy with the many activities he had the opportunity to participate in. He lived a healthy lifestyle and never smoked or drank. He followed the local sports teams like the Giants and 49ers. He loved to listen to music. His other life was his family. When he was able to drive he visited his children and grandchildren every weekend. He liked to sit and watch what everyone was doing, especially his great-grandchildren. He truly valued his family which was proven through his choice of decoration in his apartment-full of family pictures collected throughout the years. Heldo passed away at the age of 93, on December 8, 2013 at UCSF Medical Center. He was able to overcome many illnesses. After years of fighting, his heart failed while battling a respiratory illness. He passed away peacefully in sleep.
