Heber "Red" Jay Grant Ethington's Obituary
“Red” Ethington, a long time resident of San Leandro, passed away in Arizona on June 15, 2013. After serving his country in the Coast Guard, Red worked for Pacific Bell for many years. He enjoyed working with his hands, especially working in the garden where he loved to grow vegetables. Red had a large yard that allowed him to do the hobbies he enjoyed. Red is preceded in death by his son Larry Ethington, four sisters and one brother. He is also preceded in death by the late Brenda Ethington and Joyce Ethington. Red is survived by his wife Tina Ethington of Arizona; daughter Linda Ethington of Castro Valley and her mother, Harriet Reed; daughter-in-law Mary Ethington of Dublin; grandchildren Holly Peterson of Stockton and Ryan Ethington of Santa Barbara; great-grandchildren Grace Peterson and Noah Ethington; brothers Everette Ethington and Ira Fulton; and several nieces, nephews and friends. A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, California 94544.
