Hazel Marie Voellinger's Obituary
Hazel Marie Voellinger July 21, 1923 – Jan. 26, 2012 Resident of Hayward. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Hazel Marie Voellinger passed away peacefully at the age of 88 in Hayward, CA, due to complications from a stroke. Born in Wallace, NB, Hazel moved from the family farm to Hayward in 1942. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering and playing cards at the senior center in Castro Valley. Above all, she treasured her family and friends and the many joys they brought her. Family celebrations were the highlight of her life and she always said that her family made her world go around. We will always remember Hazel as a loving, joyous, and accepting woman who celebrated the achievements and happiness of others. She is survived by her husband, Robert Voellinger, Sr., her children, Gene Wertz (Marcy Timberman), Janelle Thompson (Al Millar), and Robie Roberts; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and a large extended family. Viewing will be on Tues., Jan. 31, 2012, from 4:30pm to 9:00pm at the Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward. Final Services will be held on Wed., Feb. 1, 2012 at 1:30pm at the Chapel of the Chimes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association P.O.
