Hazel Ruth Benson's Obituary
With great sadness we regret to announce the passing of Ms. Hazel Benson.
Hazel Ruth Benson was born on August 5, l920 at Beulah, North Dakota, the daughter of Michael and Bertha Skuza. The family then moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota where she spent her school years. After high school graduation, the family moved to a farm nearby. It was here that she met her future husband, Stanley Benson. They married in 1941 and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota to begin their life. Stanley worked as a machinist and Hazel was a lifelong homemaker.
In 1979, they moved to Fremont, Ca. to be closer to their two daughters, Laneia & Dannielle, and their grandchildren.
Hazel is survived by a daughter, Laneia Bolle and husband Tom, son-in-law Richard Vincench, six grandchildren, Michael Bolle (Elizabeth), Jennifer Jesswein (Richard), Jason Bolle, Victoria Chiesa (Tom), Jared Vincench (Stephanie), Nathaniel Vincench (Jami) and Brother, Ken Skuza. Along with eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was Pre-deceased by her parents, Michael and Bertha Skuza, husband, Stanley Benson, daughter, Dannielle Vincench, sister, Francis Mohr, brothers, Burt, Raymond, and Virgil Skuza.
Hazel, loved gardening and was known for her tasty home-baked desserts. She passed at age 101 on October 12, 2021, at The Commons at Union Ranch, Manteca, where she had resided the past three years.
She will be laid to rest at Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward, California. Memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Fremont, CA.
