Harry M. Corbin Jr.A resident of San Leandro for 52 years, also known as Pete Corbin, passed away quietly on Tuesday morning, October, 10, 2006. He is preceded in death by his son, Randall Corbin. Pete is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lola J. Corbin; son, Samuel Corbin, daughter-in-law, Pamelia Corbin;grandchildren, Samatha Endean, Douglas Corbin and Tiffanie Corbin; and great-granddaughter, Ashley Endean. A World War II veteran, Harry served as an underwater scout and raider in the Amphibious forces that served in the Pacific Theater. Before there were Navy SEALs or Underwater Demolition Teams (UDT) or Naval Combat Demolition Units (NCDU), there were Scouts and Raiders.
