Harry Arnold's Obituary
Harry A. Arnold “RED BARON” 1929 2008 Passed away peacefully at home in Castro Valley, surrounded by his loving family on 9/2/08, after a short, but courageous, battle with melanoma. A life long resident of the Bay Area Harry retired from Pacific Motor Trucking in 1986 and started his own small business “Red Baron Pilot Service” which he continued until health issues forced him to retire in 2007. In 1947 he married the love of his life, Doris, to whom he was married for 53 years prior to her passing in 2000. While our hearts are heavy with our loss we rejoice that after nearly 8 years of grieving he has now been reunited with his beloved wife where we know they are “cutting a rug” together once again. Predeceased by his daughter, Alison Miller and Granddaughter, Laura Arnold; Harry is survived by his son, Lon (Pat) Arnold, daughters Denise Arnold, and Rolene Arnold-Kooken, son-in-law, Christopher Miller; grandchildren Stacy Harrold, Scott (Desiree) Furlough, Daniel (Jessica) Arnold, Meredith Arnold, Kathryn Arnold, Susan (Preston) Getts, Vanessa and Sarah DeAnda; great-grandchildren, Aloura and Colton Harrold, Tyler and Ryan Furlough, Vincent, Jacob and Ella Arnold, and Owen Getts. He also leaves behind his brother, Gus Pike; sister, Deanna Dowd; sister-in-law Bonnie (Dave) Roller; brother-in-law Todd (Helen) Jefferis; extended family Adam (Tiffany), Austin, Aaron and Joshua Kook en, Richard, Noah, Antonio, and Desiree Castillo as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In keeping with his wishes there will be no formal services however, a Celebration of Harry’s life will be held at Scott & Desiree Furlough’s, 20497 Yeandle Avenue, Castro Valley, CA on Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Edward Castillo, for all of his love, support and assistance during these past years and especially during his final days.
