Thinking of you on the last game for the A’s at the coliseum.
Our deepest condolences to Annis (Almost Grandma), Anda, Gary and family,
"Almost Grandad", Harold Miller, was an amazing father, who carved out a very full and exciting life. He chose to live to the fullest for his wife Annis, his daughter Anda, his son Gary, his 4 grandkids and great grandchildren as well. Mr. Miller will be missed in so many ways because of how many lives he touched. Glen and I have been very blessed to have had Almost Grandma and Almost Grandpa as our Elvina Drive (San Leandro) neighbors since the early 1970's. We have so many fun, fond and favorite memories of him. :)
We appreciate Harold's help when we were stranded with emergencies. Greg and Glen appreciate Almost Grandad letting them play "pickle" in the front yard and the many gifts from the A's and Warrior games. Not to mention secret access to the Warrior and A's locker rooms when we were little. Wow! What a treat that was.
Harold Miller was an amazing man. He was a friend to so many people in the Bay Area and beyond... He will always be remembered as a diligent worker, a dutiful husband, a great Dad, a golfer, a cool motorcycle rider and a huge sports fan. To the Jacques family, Hal Miller was an M.V.P neighbor. He was the coolest Almost Grandpa.
Rest in Peace dear one. Your long and fruitful life and services to others will always be remembered.
This is such a hard time to lay a loved one to rest, and our hearts are with Sitter, Anda, Gary and the entire Miller family. Uncle Harold had so many family and friends who loved him and will not be able to attend his services because of the 2020 pandemic, (us included). We are grateful for the opportunity to join in via streaming video to pay our respects to a great man.
We had the wonderful opportunity to go on vacation just a couple of years ago with Harold and Sitter, (Annis). I don't remember who asked who to go. Our destination was Washington to visit Sitter's older brother, Big Joe, (Vance). Now Harold and Sitter were both 89 years old and they were going to visit Vance who was 96 years old. We had such a great time and were exchanging humor the entire trip. Staying with Big Joe and Julie, (Joe's wife) was like staying at a Five Star Hotel. We were so fortunate for that time together.
As so many of us know, Harold always made it a point to get the entire family together every year for a Christmas brunch. This was all sides of the family attending. Often it was quite a crowd and truly the only chance for all of us to get together. We are so thankful for those times we shared together with family.
Harold and Jim were able to sneak off and play golf now and then and enjoy a little one on one time. To say the least, Harold always won. Harold was a much better player and had some great tips. Not one to rub in who the real golfer was on the golf course. But, he may have gotten a few laughs.
Looking back, Harold had a great life! He had a lifelong mate, two beautiful children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who all loved him. He had an amazing career that allowed him so many great opportunities. Many of those opportunities he shared with family and friends. Harold will be truly missed, but in our memories forever.
R.I.P. In Heaven, Uncle Harold
Love you Jim and Linda Baughman
Mr Miller its so hard to sit and put into words how you will always have a special place in my heart and the entire Anderson family.
I can't tell you how many times playing basketball at your real hoop in the driveway, not something attached to the house and you were just coming home from work and shooting with hoops with us, going in to change your clothes and coming right back out. And yes you and me always beat Gary and Tom 😅.
Going over your house and Gary wasn't home and sitting in the bedroom off of the porch where the television was and just talking and watching some TV. Always felt so warm and welcomed at your house. Which can get me to Mom, and I can go on forever about her as well.
Going to A's games or Warrior games as an adult looking for your green truck and making sure whoever I was with, I introduced them and then found out they already knew Mr Miller.
The firm handshake with a grab of your upper arm. His smile and his Kenny how are you?
How many miles did you walk not only on the golf course, but on the steps of the Coliseum and the Arena?
So happy my son got to meet you years back at an A's game and then see you just a few years ago before a Harlem Globetrotters game. Karen as we were first dating at the Warriors game.
I love you, thank you for the wonderful memories in our little world of Kappa and Elvina.
Great memories I hold so dear. Remember you are a big part of who I am today.
To Mom, Anda and Gary, I love you give each hugs from all the Andersons.
