Gregory Nelson Pung's Obituary
Gregory Nelson Pung 1957-2010 Resident of Oakland Gregory Pung died peacefully in Oakland Calif. on Friday February 5, 2010 at the age of 52 years old. Born April 8, 1957 to Thomas C.U. Pung and Rubye M. Pung at Highland Hospital in Oakland California, he was the fourth child of five siblings. During his High School years Gregory excelled in academics, he was very bright in mathematics, english and was offered full scholarship for his talent in Art. Gregory also loved music. He played guitar, drums and piano and was in a band alongside his childhood friends. Always the clown from a young age, anyone fortunate to have known Gregory loved him for his funny sense of humor and ability to make people laugh. Up until the very end of his life he still had that special quality that will bring a smile to us every time we think of him. Gregory is survived by his son Gregory Pung Jr., his wife Kim, his granddaughter Madeline Rose all of San Jose, Ca., his brothers Thomas, Calvin, and Bill Pung, his sister Rea Pedro 7 nieces and 9 nephews and 3 great nephews and 5 great nieces. The family would like to give Special Thanks to the entire Staff at Garfield Neurological Hospital in Oakland, Calif. for making the past fourteen years of Gregory’s life his extended home , keeping him safe, loving and caring for him and preserving his dignity.
