Gloria Monsanto's Obituary
Born March 23, 1940 in Manila, Philippines to Avelino Escueta and Soledad Hernandez. A loving sister to Norma, Orlando ( V), Rebecca, Editha, Isagani and Octavio. Married at the age of 16 to Edmundo Daluz. They were blessed with 4 wonderful children, Edgar, Glenn, Janet and Eric ( V). The family migrated to the United States on December 27, 1983 and stayed in San Francisco until they moved and settled in Union City. When her beloved Edmundo passed away on May 28, 1992, Gloria never thought she would find love again until she met her sweetheart, Roger Monsanto at Saint Anne’s Church in 1996. They dated for 4 years and married on November 25, 2000.Mama was a glamourous woman with an impeccable taste in clothing, purses and shoes. She always made sure that she was dressed to the nines when leaving her house. She loved getting pampered and a regular patron at her favorite beauty salon. Mama and Daddy Roger enjoyed their occasional visit to their favorite casinos with their friends.Despite being ill, Mama never showed any sign of weakness and always had a smile on her face, we attribute this to her strong faith in God. She was an active member of Saint Anne’s Church and was a devotee of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag, and was often seen praying the rosary and handing out prayer leaflets to people. Mama’s favorite saying was “be charitable”, she always reminded us not to be greedy and help people in need. She demonstrated this by always being generous and thinking of other people first. Mama would give her last penny just to help those in need. She lived life to the fullest! She will be missed dearly by her beloved family, her husband, Roger; her children, Edgar (Maria), Glenn (Nelda) and Janet. Her grandchildren, Tracy, Richard, Kylie, Cristen, Nina, Maya, Johnathan, Ejay and Leah. Her sisters, Norma, Rebecca and Editha, her brothers, Isagani and Octavio. Many relatives, nieces, nephews, and devoted friends.
