Glenn Gordon DiedrickApril 23, 1962 ' January 28, 2012Beloved and devoted son of Ione Diedrick and the late Gayle Diedrick. Beloved brother to Mike (Diane), Rick (Julie) and Bob Diedrick. Loving and devoted father to Chautia Diedrick. Glenn lost his valiant, year-long battle with cancer on January 28. He was lovingly cared for as a Hospice patient at home by his loving mother, brother, Bob and daughter. Glenn grew up in San Lorenzo and lived there until his death. As a youngster, he played Little League and was in the Blue Angels Drum Corps. He worked at the Green Pepper produce stand as a teenager, worked as a carpenter and was employed by UPS for the past 12 years. He loved to fish, camp and hike at the Walker River. He loved Hawaii, Yosemite, drinking good wine, watching old black and white movies, and attending Raider games with family and friends. He had many nicknames such as: Glenny, Gordy, and Smiley. He has left behind many adoring nieces and nephews who will miss him terribly: Amber, Melanie, Greg, Robert, Raymond, Sandy, Joshua, Haley, Marisa and Kyle. He was a great-uncle to: Jordan, Alyssa, Cameron, Maci, Brayden and Jaxen. He is also survived by his Aunts Henrietta Tower and Florence Soto and many cousins. Glenn brought a ray of sunshine to everyone he met, his smile and happy disposition will be missed by everyone who knew him. Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA. Visitation on Friday, 2/3 at 5:30 p.m. Funeral service will be on Saturday, 2/4 at 1:30 p.m.In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Glenn's name to the American Cancer Society. Thank you.
