Giovanna A. Giangrasso's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Giovanna A. Giangrasso. On Monday, December 7th, 2020, Ms. Giangrasso gently slipped away from her earthly bonds and quietly entered into eternal rest.
Jennie was born in New York City in 1921. Daughter of John and Mary Giangrasso Her family moved to Oakland when she was 15. There she graduated from Fremont High School in 1940.
Following high school she worked at Mother’s Cookies for 42 years.
For the past 48 years she resided in San Leandro.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Ann Holder, Joseph Giangrasso and Frances (Correia) Dwyer
She is survived by twelve loving nieces and nephews: Shirley Hazlett, Donna Gilmour, John Holder, Lenny Holder, Julie Steele, John Giangrasso, Marisa Barge, Gina Knepell, Mary Taylor, Teresa Correia, Diane Morgan and Marty Correia
Famous for her New York Style cheesecake, her love of family and laughter. Although deeply mourned, her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with loved ones that have been waiting for her.
She will be forever loved and missed by her devoted family.
