Gim Hong Lee's Obituary
Gim Hong Lee 李聯浣 passed away on January 15th in Hayward at the age of 90. Gim was born in China中國, Canton廣東省, 新村 village.Gim immigrated to the US at the young age of 12. He attended Lincoln Elementary and Oakland Tech school. Gim served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. He received an honorable discharge on Feb 8th, 1955. Gim worked at the Idle Hour Restaurant and the City of Oakland until 1993 when he retired at the age of 62. After his retirement, Gim travelled with his wife to China, Hawaii, Reno, Lake Tahoe and Vancouver, Canada. Gim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed. Gim is survived by his wife of 62 years, Yuet Sin Chan, their two sons; Raymond and Wellman, daughter in laws; Elizabeth and Janet and four granddaughters; Michelle, Christina, Shannon and Marissa.Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb 3rd, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. at Chapel of the Chimes.Memorial and burial service will be held on Sunday, Feb 4th from 10:00 am to 12 noon in the Reflection Chapel at Chapel of the Chimes.Reception will be held on Sunday Feb. 4th from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at Rose Garden Restaurant in Union City (33348 Alvarado-Niles Road).
