Mama, it’s been 5 years and the grief is as heartbreaking as the day you were called home. The love, respect and comfort that you gave was insurmountable. I think you today just as much as when you passed and all the years past when you were the cheerleader for all of us. I still remember everything you did to protect me (Mrs DelaRiva). The love I feel for you, mom will never ever be diminished.
My mother was the most self sacrificing woman I have ever known. Her children came before anyone or anything else. She supported us and loved us every day of our lives. She would work all day, come home and cook nutritious and delicious meals. She was my mentor, my protector, and my biggest defender. She never thought twice to come to our aid when needed. She was my best friend for 61 years. I will miss her more than can be measured. Rest well my precious mom (you deserve the peace). Wait for me mama at the light - we will be reunited again for eternity.
I'm grateful to have had the chance to visit with you last month. I love you grandma. You will be missed by all who knew and loved you.

I was so blessed to have such a loving grandmother. I will never forget the summer vacations. The delicious meals and endless games of ping pong. She even did a surprise visit when I was training in 29 palms with the Marine Corps. Such a strong and beautiful personality. Love you grandma.

I am so grateful to have had such a strong and close relationship with my Grandmother. She was an amazing woman and I always admired her strength and love. I have so many wonderful memories with her dating back to my youngest years, when I would get to go and sleepover for a night. I remember feeling so loved, comfortable and happy on those visits. She always spoiled us rotten. She was an amazing cook, and in my childhood, I couldn't wait for Christmas Eve when she made so many delicious dishes and every type of Christmas cookie you could imagine. Thank you Grandma, for your unconditional love, support and encouragement. I miss you dearly, but know that you will always, always be with me in my heart. May you rest in peace.

I was blessed to have such a beautiful, caring and thoughtful mother. Her love for family was unsurpassed. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do to help us.
